  • How long does the fellowship last?

This cohort of the fellowship lasts 12 months, but we encourage the fellows to stay connected and further the relationships built even after the official term of the fellowship through a robust alumni network of fellows.

  • What is expected of me once I am a fellow?

Strategize, organize, and fight the climate fight. The fellowship is meant to support you and your activism. This is a one-year program where fellows are expected to take part in at least 1-2 joint fellowship calls and trainings monthly, collaborate with other fellows on a joint project, and join in-person meetings as fitting. You are also expected to connect your organization and community with the learnings and contacts provided by the fellowship. Since the fellowship is geared towards a collective action or mobilization in the lead up to COP 31. You will be required to do certain activities in the lead up to that action, as well as organize with your collective and other fellows on possible collaborations, actions, and others.

  • Can I bring my collective/group into the fellowship activities?

Yes! This fellowship is meant to serve the broader Climate Justice Movements, if you believe someone from your collective might benefit from the learnings and activities planned within the fellowship, they are welcome to partake in any activity calls, share materials, learnings and more.

  • I am a movement organizer from a different social justice group but have not particularly focused on climate change - can I apply?

The climate crisis demands an intersectional approach. If you are a strong movement organizer fighting an important struggle and plan to build bridges with the climate movement, you are very much invited to apply. This cohort will focus particularly on energy justice: resistance to fossil fuels and extractivism, democratizing energy systems, supporting workers, and securing access to energy as a right. We welcome activists from diverse backgrounds who are ready to help build a stronger, more intersectional climate justice movement.

  • What if I cannot partake in the fellowship activities anymore?

We know the importance of taking a break. Everybody needs them. We also understand that circumstances might change in a way that you cannot continue the fellowship at all- in such a case, we will jointly evaluate with you whether to pause or end the fellowship.

  • What do the monthly stipends/payments entail?

Everybody in the fellowship will receive 500USD per month. This support is meant to take the burden from you as an activist to work on the side and enable focussing on campaigning and organizing. However, tax regulation is vastly different across the globe and in some countries you might need to pay taxes on these stipends/payments.

  • How can I apply and what is the application process like?

The first step is to fill in the application form. See who can apply (in question 1). The evaluation of the questionnaire will be handled by a diverse group of grassroots organizers. Among all applicants, 25 will move forward and be interviewed in August/September 2025. You will find out if you have been selected for the fellowship in mid-September 2025.

  • Who facilitates this fellowship?

The idea for this fellowship was developed by the movement for the movement. The fellowship is fiscally hosted by TogetherforFuture and implemented in partnership with 350.org.

  • Can I use AI to write my application?

We want to hear from you directly, we won't evaluate your application based on the quality of your written or spoken english. We prefer responses made of your own, we highly encourage applicants to not use AI tools to generate responses.
