The Climate
Justice Squad-
A fellowship for young
climate activists
Context
The fellowship has successfully developed confident, capable leaders committed to systemic change, and future efforts will continue to build cross-movement alliances and ensure lasting youth-led climate action.
This fellowship is a space to unite, support, and enable coordination, sustainability, pastoral care, connectivity, and joint strategizing among key actors. Even now, after the first fellowship has ended, fellows continue to talk to each other bilaterally, asking for advice, support, and connecting their networks where the campaigns fit. Those who are working on similar topics across countries and regions naturally lean into each other, and those working in similar regions are also exploring collaborations.
The Climate Justice Squad Fellowship, facilitated by 350.org and Together For Future, with the support of the Urban Movement Initiative Fund and the Climate Emergency Collaboration Group, aims to contribute to rebuilding momentum by supporting 15 young climate leaders.

the programme
The Climate Justice Squad Fellowship programme will provide 15 young climate activists with highly strategic organizational and trust-based coaching, training support, mentoring, and financial support. Furthermore, the fellowship will serve as a crucial informal trusted space and nerve centre for coordination and exchange between youth activists.
They will be supported in developing what they could collectively identify as the next stage in creating the conditions for a swift, equitable, and just transition, meanwhile building resilience and strengthening strategic vision. The fellowship aims to provide a structured space to enable the fellows and their movements to collaborate on a joint campaign or project, especially with the lead up to COP 31.
