What is the Climate Justice Squad fellowship?
The Climate Justice Squad Fellowship enables young climate activists to grow their impact and collaborate on a global scale. The one-year program will provide mentorship, training, structured spaces to create strong connections and alliances between the fellows and their movements, and monthly stipends. The fellowship will be run bilingually with materials and documents available in English and Spanish.
The fellowship aims to provide a structured space to enable the fellows and their movements to collaborate on a joint campaign or project, especially with the lead up to COP 31.

Past cohorts
“It was an experience that allowed me to pursue my dream of creating an organization from scratch. Thanks to this, I was able to launch the organization, which in less than 3 months, has already reached over 700,000 views on social media..”
— Federico Pellegrino, 23, Argentina
"The fellowship has supported my organization's work on providing psycho-social support, along with facilitating well-being workshops to environmental defenders in the Philippines, with a focus on land defenders and Indigenous Peoples."
— Naro Alonzo, 26, Philippines
"Myself and many others became climate organizers because we saw our communities and environments struggling and needed to take action. At that time there was no formal training or access to resources on how to successfully organize. I struggled to understand the spectrum of allies, power mapping, sustaining momentum, and more. The Climate Justice Fellowship allowed me to learn from other organizers and fill in the gaps in each other’s knowledge about organizing. We also build an international network to collaborate on campaigns, learn from mistakes and successes, and support each other."
— Aliya Hirji, Canada
The fellows bring different approaches and theories of change to ensure effective organizing and tactics to bring us closer to
climate justice.
The fellowship serves as a crucial informal trusted space and nerve centre for coordination and exchange between youth activists from different backgrounds.
Our goal is to serve the climate movement by supporting and sustaining activists to create conditions for a swift, equitable, and just transition while building resilience and strengthening
strategic visions.

Through this fellowship, we are bringing together a powerful, youth-led force to strengthen the climate justice movement. We equip activists with the tools, strategies, and resilience needed to make lasting change. Together, we fight for a just transition and sustainable future, while prioritizing well-being and preventing burnout. Become part of a movement that amplifies voices and creates lasting impact.
